Feature

White powder. It is an organic compound and is the most prolific dicarboxylic acid. Solid at room temperature. Heating will not melt, 300℃ above sublimation. If heated in an airtight container, it melts at 427℃. Terephthalic acid is the raw material to produce polyesters, especially polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
